My First Blog Hop!

Hi everyone!  Welcome to my blog!  If you came from Barbara Brusca, you are in the right place!  If you have jumped here and just discovered our blog hop, feel free to check the list at Damask Divas blog to find the complete list of blog hop participants.

I'm excited to be in my first blog hop!  Ok, I am a baby blogger...so everything is a first.  It is amazing what a deadline does for me!  I have been a scrapbooker, but I have only made a few cards in my life...So this is all new to me!  I am hoping entering blogs and challenges forces me to create more, and finish the project I start, lol!  This month we are using the Clementine paper pack.  This is a cute paper pack with a new cardstock color I love~Cashmere.  I also used new stamps I absolutely LOVE, and tried out our new alcohol markers.  I sponged the bottom corner with Black and Slate ink after embossing, to give a smokey look. I made a pocket folder using my favorite Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge.  I went french country, and this is what I came up with:

Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge

October Advent Calendar!

Here is what I have been working on this week.  I decided to make a calendar for October that would count down to Halloween.  Nothing scary, except maybe a little spider.  Everday has a flap that lifts up and says something like...no chores day, family game night, family movie and pizza night, family craft night, bonus 30 minutes of bedtime reading, etc.  The green box has room for candy.  I tried to get creative as time would allow for.  This time of year is very busy for us with soccer and gymnastics.  Next week we will add Awanas at church, to top off the craziness!  We will spend our weekends going to the farmers market, the zoo, or the local amusement park.  So, this is my way of giving my kids little promises of time I will spend with them.  This is what I came up with:

I love a challenge, it keeps me focused.  It also keeps me distracted from thinking about school starting next week, and how much I will miss my three kids.  How empty the house will be, how quiet...but not peaceful quiet, creepy quiet!  So I challenged myself to make a card for Halloween using no Halloween paper, stamps, or accessories. For years I have been a mostly collecting (hoarding, lol) scrapbook supplies, but have never made any cards before.    I made this card using a Christmas stamp, only because of the versatility of the CTMH clear acrylix stamps!  This is what I came up with.

Supplies used for card:
Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge
Love Life stamp set D1482
Art Philosophy stamp set D1498 (only avail. with AP bundle)
Chocolate Alphabet Small D1296
CTMH CS in Honey, Sunset, Gypsy & Pear
CTMH buttons, ribbon and sparkles

Spider and web:
Sparkles Z1104
Opaques Z1335
Glamour Lowercase Alphabet D1522

Thanks for stopping by!
