All Things Die Cut~Blog Hop

Hey everyone!  Welcome to my blog!  If you are hopping along from Becca's blog you are in the right place.  Thank you so much for joining us, this month we are sharing all things Die Cut!  I tend to go through phases with all of my crafty supplies.  When it came to dies, I started with a Big Shot.  I started collecting huge dies from Sizzix, though I can't say I used very many.  Then in 2012 I saw this crazy infomercial...and I bought a Cricut Expression off TV (which I had never done before, lol).  I really didn't use it much, until Close to my Heart released their first cartridge, then I was smitten!

Then I found my new love a little over two years ago...my ScanNcut!  I picked it up about the same time the Cricut Explore was released.  I have found the ScanNcut to be a stampers dream!  Maybe it is the perfectionist in me, but I have soooo many stamps from CTMH I wasn't using...for fear of not being able to cut them out *perfect*, and I loathe fussy cutting.  So, with the ScanNcut I can now use any stamp.  I simply stamp it out, and cut it out...in about 5 seconds.  I found the machine so easy to use, right out of the box...without reading any instructions.  I have a husband, three kids and a dog...so sometimes I just want to spend time creating.  Having a machine to use without a computer, with no new software to learn or update etc. is pretty sweet.  Now, I'm not going to say this machine will start doing your laundry or even save you so much money from not buying dies to match your stamps...I still love matching dies, BUT it is awesome when the dies are not offered.  I do love the Cricut Explore so much, I had to buy the Explore Air...well, maybe that was because it came in gold, lol!  But, I do love being able to cut from my iPhone...you can't beat that!  But, I have to say...I use my ScanNcut much more than my Explore.

Then, a little over a year ago, I was introduced to stitched dies, through a dear crafty friend.  Oh my goodness, I can't say I have fully recovered yet...I am still adding new dies to my wish list every month!  Picking my favorite machine, or die would be almost as hard as picking a favorite child.  Luckily dies all play well together, and they are all so much fun!  So, no matter what phase or crafty mood I'm in...dies of some sort are always in the mix of things.

So here is my project for this blog hop...I used an assortment of stamps and dies from Mama Elephant.  Dies made this card super quick!  Ready to pop in the mail to a dear friend, who is now expecting her first child!  I stamped all the images with gold pigment ink, then heat set everything so I could watercolor with Tim Holz distress inks.  Super quick and easy...which is all I have time with, as we are still traveling!

Thanks so much for joining me!  Next on the hop is Amy McVey!  You won't want to miss how she uses dies!
