Cards for hubby {Masculine cards}

Hey everyone!  Just wanted to share my latest cards I gave my hubby.  Masculine cards are probably the hardest for me.  It is hard for me to steer clear of the cutesy stamps, and exclude glitter.  Luckily, my hubby loves all the cards I make him anyway...

From Mama Elephant stamp set, In my Heart.  I also used the dog from Tiny Heroes which I masked off the dogs super hero mask.

New Copic and Ink pad Storage find~Super Cheap!

Hey everyone!  I'll be honest...I am always searching for a new, better, prettier, cheaper way to store my crafty items.  Maybe I'm slightly OCD, but I really love finding a pretty way to store things where they can be easy to access, and put away.  I try not to buy things made for craft rooms, because I know I will find something better down the road~and need to use it in another way in my home.  So, while shopping at Costco recently, I found a makeup organizer that I took one look and got excited...I thought it would be perfect for my Copic marker and ink pad storage!

Each box has 2 units, a large and a small in it,  The units were only $9.97!!!{...so in six months when and if I find something better, I can give them to my daughter to hold her makeup, lol}.  I picked up 2 boxes so far, and love them!  Ok, I wish I had bought the Studio 3 Copic storage before they closed down.  But, for the money...I think these are a great solution.  Especially since the large unit is perfect for Copics and ink pads, and the small unit seems made for the Copic refill bottles {that made my heart happy, a two for one!}.  Here are some pics of my latest find.  You can place the units flat to store Copics upright and keep them portable, or turn upside down to store Copics horizontal and make it easier to access ink pads.

This is how I will use it in my craft room~turned upside down.

This is another option of how you could use the unit...

This is how I am using it to be portable, so I can take them to my living room and use on the weekends.  I take most of the ink pads out so they are not as heavy.

Simon Says Stamp~Lunch

Hey everyone!  Next week my youngest, who is in 3rd grade starts MAP testing...Ugh.  Poor kids, no matter what your stance is on performance testing, everyone knows it's no fun.  His teacher asked all the parents to send in notes of encouragement to surprise the kids with.  So, in my typical oldest child syndrome fashion...I thought to myself, I can do even better than that!  I decided to make a little card for him to open each day, and I wrote little poems in each one.  I tried to be a little funny, to brighten his day...because he hates taking tests!  He is already dreading it :(  So, here are the cards I made.  I really can't take any credit for them though.  They are totally inspired  lifted off Laura Bassen.  She is so awesome, and an absolute card making genius!  I was able to whip these cards up, in about 30 minutes, on Easter Sunday.  I used the Kid's Rock stamp and die set from Simon Says Stamp.  I'll put a link to Laura's Youtube video below the picks.  I'm also sending the Just Keep Swimming card I showed in recent Paper Smooches post, for day #1.   I hope they help make the week of testing, a tiny but better!

I Love Roo!

Hey everyone!  I made a super CAS card I wanted to share with you.  I love when a card comes together in just a matter of minutes!   I made this card for my hubby, and even though he is very manly...I think he will love it!  I used the super cute stamp set from Paper Smooches, A Little Lovin' {again, I know!} and colored the cute kangaroo with Copic markers.  I took the Curly Cloud Die to make a spring out of silver cardstock.  Then I had to attach the kangaroo with an Adhesive Spring...I couldn't resist!  How cute is that?  I am linking my card up to the Paper Smooches Anything goes challenge.

You brighten my life~Lawn Fawn

Hey everyone!  I have a quick card to share using Lawn Fawn stamp sets Bug and Kisses.  I used distress inks to make a night sky, and I had masked off the areas I wanted to have my lightening bugs glow.  I made a shaker card, of course...because that cute jar of bugs screams for sequins.  :)  I used the Life is Good stamp set for the sentiment.

Oh Deer~Lawn Fawn Goodness!

Hey everyone~ Just wanted to share a card I made using Lawn Fawn goodness.  I was dying to use the cute little fox, from Into the Woods!  But, then I resist using the chipmunk and deer also.  I wanted to use the inside of the frames, because I haven't seen any cards like that yet.  So, I used my ScanNcut to cut the inside of the shapes out...believe me, that was no picnic!  First I masked off outside of each shape, and stamp just the inside on transparency sheets using Stazon.  Then line in up perfectly on my card base on the ScanNcut mat to cut.  It was worth it, because now I will have them ready to go whenever I'd like.  It's still a pain though~I've got to get the Flirty Frame dies, lol!  I popped up the panel with foam tape to give it a bit of dimension.  The hearts die from Mama Elephant is what I used to create the scalloped borders behind the panel.  The stamp sets are both from Lawn Fawn~Into the Woods and Flirty Frames.  The sequins and paper are from Lawn Fawn also.

Just Keep Swimming~Paper Smooches

Hey everyone!  I have another card to share today from Paper Smooches.  I used PS Stitched Frame Dies to cut out windows for mini shaker panels.  I used distress inks for the background, in my attempt to mimic water in aquarium tanks, lol.  I colored all the images from Briny Blue, and Surf and Turf with Copics and slathered on glitter with my Wink of Stella.  I used Sentiment Sampler and Mini monograms for my sentiment, to tell my friend to hang in there.  My kids thought this card was really fun!

Rainbow Wishes

Hello everyone!  I have a quick card to share today using Paper Smooches.  I checked out the Paper Smooches blog and saw they have card challenges, yay!  Definitely what I needed to keep me focused to use the stamps I have...Instead of just shopping for more!  ;)  So, I will be playing along with their Sparks Challenges as often as I can now.  For my card I used their challenge from last week an inspiration. I used the stamp set, Luminous Spring and the super cute Curly Cloud Dies.  I loved the look of the gold with the white and aqua!
